Health and Safety at the Clearview Library District

The health and safety of the Clearview Library District community is our number one priority. We are closely following the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and guidelines from the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the CDC.

Preventative Measures

To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Windsor-Severance Library will be closed until April 20, in alignment with the Weld RE-4 School District closure.

  • All in-person events, programs, and classes are cancelled.
  • No items are due during this time and all bookdrops are closed for returns.
  • All items checked out as of March 1 will not be due until April 30.
  • Items on hold will not expire and new holds will be disabled on physical items until we reopen.
  • Any holds that are ready for pickup will remain and will be available when the library reopens.

If the school district closure extends beyond April 19, we will follow state or county guidelines, as they are shared, and will reopen when allowed by law or as appropriate. The Board of Trustees will meet at that time in either a regular session or an emergency meeting to reopen the library.

Regular Health Maintenance

The Windsor-Severance Library (720 3rd Street) is cleaned seven days a week. This includes, but is not limited to, disinfecting restrooms, tables, and hard surfaces. Hand sanitizer and facial tissues are available throughout the building. This same level of care is provided to the bookmobile after each day on the road.

Public Health Procedures

If the situation should escalate, we have procedures in place to help maintain public health and safety, yet minimize disruption to library services. Any future library updates will be posted to this page, as well as our Facebook page.

We encourage staff and patrons to follow CDC guidelines, which aim to slow the spread of infectious diseases in these ways:

  • Clean hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • For further guidelines regarding individuals infected with COVID-19 specifically, visit the CDC’s website.

While the Windsor-Severance Library is closed to the public, our staff members are still at work providing library services.
