Come have fun with food at the library! Open to elementary-aged children, as well as tweens ages 9-12.
During Kids in the Kitchen, you will learn to make and try new foods that you can also make for your family at home! Participants will experiment with all types of cooking styles, ingredients, recipes, and techniques.
Great big tacos. Little bitty tacos. Beef tacos. Chicken tacos. Fruit punch. What do all these things have in common? Dragons love them (and so will you)! During this session of Kids in the Kitchen, we will be making Dragon’s Favorite Taco Bowls and filling them with delicious toppings like beef, chicken, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. (Please leave your dragon at home.)
The meat used for our taco bowls will be prepared prior to the program and kept in a slow cooker. A meat thermometer will be used to ensure the meat is maintained at a safe internal temperature.
Please be aware that we are offering the same program activity during weeks one and two of Kids in the Kitchen. Weeks three and four of Kids in the Kitchen will also feature the same program activity, but a different activity from weeks one and two. Therefore, we kindly ask that you register for either week one OR two and either week three OR four so as to allow the greatest number of people possible to enjoy this popular program.
Registration is required. Please register each child separately that will be attending the program using the child’s first and last name. We will meet in the Cottonwood Room of the Severance Library.
Please note: At this time we are unable to accommodate food allergies.
Photographs taken during library events may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please let the photographer know at the time the picture is being taken.
