History by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.
Marie Benedict's The Queens of Crime follows five legendary women crime writers: Dorothy L. Sayers, Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, and Baroness Emma Orczy. Inspired by a true event from Sayers’ life, the novel explores how these women use their talents to pursue justice and earn respect in the literary world.
