History by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.
The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan is a true story of a rare friendship between Dalia, an Israeli whose family fled the Holocaust, and Bashir, a Palestinian returning to his childhood home after war. Their bond, beginning in 1967 on the stoop of a contested house, spans decades of conflict and embodies hope for peace in the Middle East.
Registration is required to receive a book. All attendees must be 18+. Already read this book? Skip registration and join us for the discussion!
