History by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.

In 1789 Maine, midwife Martha Ballard is called to examine a man found frozen in the river. As she investigates, she uncovers links to an earlier crime and must navigate secrets, suspicion, and scandal to uncover the truth.

Registration is required to receive a book. All attendees must be 18+. Already read this book? Skip registration and join us for the discussion! 

Books will be ready for pick-up beginning Thursday, November 20th. Books not picked up within 7 days of the pick-up notification email will result in a cancellation of registration to accommodate waitlists.

To cancel your registration, please email programs@clearviewlibrary.org or call the library (970-686-5603) at least 24 hours before the book club date. Books must be returned on or before the book club date. 

Photographs taken during library events may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please let the photographer know at the time the picture is being taken.
