Pikes PeakHistory by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.
In the summer of 1919, Constance Haverhill is left without a home or future after the war ends. Sent to a seaside hotel as a lady’s companion, she’s drawn into the orbit of the adventurous Poppy Wirrall and her women’s motorcycle club, where newfound freedoms clash with postwar expectations. The Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club is a witty, romantic story about friendship, independence, and a changing England.
