Clearview Homeschooler's Academy is a monthly program that offers complete subject-based kits with hands-on activities and prompts based around STEAM learning.

Many different winter holidays are celebrated and giving gifts is an important part of almost all of them. Join us as we learn about several winter holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Lunar New Year. Then we will make holiday gifts that are an important part of each of these winter holidays.

Please register separately for each participant that you would like to have a kit. Kits will be available for pick up beginning Tuesday, December 7. You may pick up your kit at the library, or call ahead to arrange Library Takeout.

Please contact Nancy Milliken for more information at nancy@clearviewlibrary.org.

Join Nancy on our YouTube channel on Tuesday, December at 14 at 1:00 p.m.

This program is offered in collaboration with Homeschool Day at the Museum.

At the museum, explore holiday celebrations in the past using math, social studies, and art. How did people celebrate Christmas in the 1800s? What gifts did they exchange? Students will tour through the Windsor History Museum using math and a Sears and Roebuck catalog to find and "purchase" 1800s and early 1900s Christmas gifts in their budget. Then, students will create Victorian-inspired Christmas cards in the art workshop.

All activities are customized for PreK-12th grade students. Sign up for a time slot in advance to reserve your space. Time slots are available on Thursday, December 16 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. For more information or to register, call 970-674-3500 or visit https://bit.ly/3jUpwqy.
