Join us online for Not Your Boring Book Club every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Geared for ages 9-12, we’ll be reading the graphic novel The Cardboard Kingdom by Chad Sell. You can find a parent review of the book at commonsensemedia.org.
Not Your Boring Book Club is a 5-week book club that fosters the love of books and reading and provides a lively environment for 9 to 12 year-olds to virtually gather, chat, create, and learn together.
Welcome to a neighborhood of kids who transform ordinary boxes into colorful costumes, and their ordinary block into a cardboard kingdom. This is the summer when sixteen kids encounter knights and rogues, robots and monsters -- and their own inner struggles -- on one last quest before school starts again. In the Cardboard Kingdom, you can be anything you want to be -- imagine that!
Kits for this online program will be available for pickup beginning January 4, and will include a free copy of the book, as well as supplies for activities and crafts that will take place during the program. You may pick up your kit at the library, or call ahead to arrange Library Takeout.
Please note that this program is registration-based only and each child needs to be registered separately. Once you have registered for the program, we will send you a link to join the book club via Zoom every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. from January 11 through February 8.
Photographs taken during virtual library events may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please turn your camera off when a picture is taken.
