Join us in person or online for Not Your Boring Book Club every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. from September 6 through October 4, 2022.
Geared for ages 9-12, we’ll be reading Roar of the Beast (The Cardboard Kingdom #2) by Chad Sell. You can find a parent review of the book at commonsensemedia.org.
Not Your Boring Book Club is a 5-week book club that fosters the love of books and reading and provides a lively environment for 9 to 12 year-olds to gather, chat, create, and learn together.
A mystery is afoot in the Cardboard Kingdom. At first, no one believes Nate, who breaks his leg trying to pursue what he saw from his bedroom window. But then there’s another, and another. An unknown monster has been spotted roaming the Kingdom after dark. Forget Halloween - the newly minted Monster Mashers will go to any lengths to protect the Kingdom and uncover this mystery. But how did the monster get here? What does it want? And mostly importantly, who is behind its creation?
Materials for this online program will be available for pickup beginning August 30. As this is a hybrid program, if you choose to participate online from home, your kit will include the necessary supplies for activities and crafts that will take place during the program. You may pick up your kit or book at the library, or call ahead to arrange Library Takeout. If you participate in person, you can come and pick up your book if you would like to get a head start beginning August 30. Please bring your book to every meeting.
Please note that this program is registration-based only and each child needs to be registered separately. Once you have registered for the program, we will send you a link to join the book club via Zoom, if that is your preference, every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. from September 6 through October 4. If you don't join via Zoom, we look forward to seeing you in person at the library. All participants in the club will have opportunities for sharing and interacting whether remote or in person!
Photographs taken during virtual library events may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please turn your camera off when a picture is taken.
