North Woods: A Novel by Daniel Mason

History by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.

Two young lovers escape a Puritan colony, setting the stage for a diverse cast of characters in a humble cabin. From an English soldier turned apple farmer, to spinster twins navigating war, each confronts unique challenges. A crime reporter's discovery of an ancient mass grave reveals secrets that refuse to fade. Amidst a lovelorn painter, sinister con man, stalking panther, and lusty beetle, the characters realize the enduring presence of a dark, raucous, and beautiful past.

Books will be ready for pick-up on Thursday, January 18th after 2pm

* All attendees must be 18+. Registration opens Monday, January 1st.

* Please contact the library by phone (970-686-5603) or email (programs@clearviewlibrary.org) to cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance if you are no longer able to participate in a registered event. Registration is not transferable upon cancellation.

* Failure to return your book at the end of the month can result in a fine added to your account in the amount of $10 for paperback or $15 for hardback copies.
