Weird Science offers kids the opportunity to explore the crazy world of STEM through experimentation, teamwork, creativity, inquiry, and innovation!
Have you ever marveled at the magic behind a compass? It’s not magic, it’s science! In this session of Weird Science we will learn about the invisible forces that make a compass work before making a compass of our own. For this activity, we will be using a sewing needle as our compass needle. Parents are welcome to join this program as we put our compasses together.
For ages 6-12. Registration is required. Please register each child separately that will be attending the program using the child's first and last name. We’ll meet in the large meeting room in the Windsor-Severance Library.
Please be aware that, moving forward, we are offering the same program activity during weeks one and two of Weird Science. Weeks three and four of Weird Science will also feature the same program activity, but a different activity from weeks one and two. Therefore, we kindly ask that you register for either week one OR two and either week three OR four so as to allow the greatest number of people possible to enjoy this popular program.
