This fun-filled event invites families to explore games and activities from around the world, all from the library! Get ready to take your "passports" and travel to different countries, where you'll learn what people play across the globe.
This week, we’ll be learning about kites with Challenge Island. Gather your family and "fly" to this hands-on, family-fun STEAM event! We'll explore the rich history and traditions of kite-flying around the world, such as the famous kite festivals in the Kite Capital of the World (Weifang, China) to the intense kite-battles of Indian Subcontinent to the more relaxing, American windy-day past-time. Using our new-found knowledge of the great kite-masters, we'll engineer our very own kites using a variety of wind-friendly materials and templates and then journey outdoors to color the summer sky!
Please note that this program is registration-based only; please register your family as one total registration, rather than registering each individual in your family. If you have more than one child that will be participating, please indicate the number so that we can plan accordingly.
