History by the Book meets to discuss historical fiction and non-fiction books. We explore the deeper stories behind historical events and periods in the past.
Winner for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Trust by Hernan Diaz is set in the midst of the roaring 1920s. New York City buzzes about the wealthy Rask couple, Benjamin and Helen, as they dominate finance and society. This novel explores their rise to power and the hidden costs behind their opulence, set against the backdrop of a decade marked by excess.
History by the Book will be skipping November due to the Thanksgiving holiday and to allow extra time to finish this title!
Books for registered patrons will be available for pick up starting on Thursday, October 19th after 2pm.
