Young Scientists is a program for kids who want to explore and learn about the world around them through experimentation and inquiry! Open to elementary-aged children and tweens ages 9-12.
The Statue of Liberty is a commonly recognized landmark that is known for its hue. But if it wasn’t painted that way, then why is the Statue of Liberty green? In this session of Young Scientists, we will conduct a few exciting experiments to learn more about the chemical reaction behind the monument’s famous patina.
Registration is required. Please register each child separately that will be attending the program using the child's first and last name. We will meet in the Pikes Peak room in the Windsor Library.
Please be aware that we are offering the same program activity during weeks one and two of Young Scientists. Weeks three and four of Young Scientists will also feature the same program activity, but a different activity from weeks one and two. Therefore, we kindly ask that you register for either week one OR two and either week three OR four so as to allow the greatest number of people possible to enjoy this popular program.
Photographs taken during library events may be used for Clearview Library District publicity. If you would like to opt out, please let the photographer know at the time the picture is being taken.
